mom and family,

     Well our investigator came to church on Sunday! She is going to get baptized on the 4th!!! It is sweet. Our other investigator didn't come though. Transfers are tomorrow and I'm staying in Calgary. I'm getting a new companion though. I hope he is cool. Well nothing really cool has really happened this week. In fact I cant really remember it that well. This week went really fast! Maybe something interesting will happen next week!

Since it was "Civil Rights" Day everyone was home from school and work.  This threw off my writing schedule, but we did remember just in time to email Jordan back and forth.  Jordan only gets 45 minutes a week on the computer so it was quick.  Poor Hayden was last and didn't get to chat.  But it was exciting to "talk" instantly with Jordan while he is in Canada and we are in Arizona.  Below are the conversations we had with him.

Dear Elder Woodard,

Good Morning.  Hopefully I have not missed you.  Today  is Martin Luther King JR day so everyone  is home.  This has thrown me off my regular schedule, so I have not emailed you yet.  It is now 11:15 and I have not heard from you yet, so maybe you are celebrating "Civil Rights" day as well and the libraries are closed.

We are doing well.  Dad is still conducting Sacrament Meeting and this week our High Councilman speaker almost didn't show up.  This is twice this month dad has had to worry about speakers as Sacrament Meeting is starting.  I am sure he will tell you the story.  (I do have to leave something for him to tell you!)

Last night was our priesthood preview.  Hayden  and dad were both asked to speak at it.  I did not go but from what I hear they both did a great job.  Hayden is so good... he has a strong spirit about him.  (And so do you!)

I received an email from shanita ross last night.  i transferred 50 into your account which gives you $85.00 is that enough?  you should get a trench coat that covers your bottom and legs.

well i guess you got off cause you didnt email back. that would be a very frustrating thing if the speakers didnt show up! its just like when our investigators dont show up. this transfer is almost over!!! time is just flying by!! its almost been a year already!!! i cant believe how fast its going. it snowed yesterday. 60% chance today, snow tommorrow and wednesday.60% on thursday and during all this lows of -30c!!!! with highs of -20's. its gotten really cold really fast!!!!!!!  hope all is well.

The boys and I are outside building their clubhouse/fort. Its going to be up in the air so its going to take a lot of work to get done.

Tell me about the investigators who came to church to find you. did you get set up to teach them. Are they progressing?

I had a bunch that I was going to tell you this week. But now I feel rushed and can't remember anything.

This is my month to conduct Sacrament meeting. I told you already about how my speakers the first week didn't show and I asked the missionaries to speak. Yesterday, being the third Sunday of the month was High Council speakers. I called him on Wednesday to touch base and confirm he is bringing a companion speaker. So when church starts at 10, no one is there. Brother Fox who is also in our ward and on the high council calls him. He is in the shower because he thinks its starts at 11. So again no speakers. He said he would hurry. He calls Brother Fox back a few minutes later and asks where our building is! He was planning on going to the wrong building at the wrong time. Oh brother. I'm not conducting any more. He and his companion showed up after the sacrament was passed. They both did a great job. It was worth it but I could sure do without the stress...

that sounds like loads of fun!!! our investigators that just walked into church are doing alright. they didnt come to church this week and they cancelled our lesson. it was cool how we found their house though. we had their address. but there are different california roads here ie california blvd and place. and we didnt know which one it was. so we tracted until we found them. it was a cool expericence except they cancellded our appointment!!!! we have a baptismal date for the 4 of feb, and we were supposed to have a baptism this saturday but she didnt come to church so it dropped. hopefully she comes to church this week and can get baptized on the 21!! have fun with the club house!

Hey jordan its Tanner. Guess what? we are building a sweet clubhouse. We just started digging the holes for the columns today so it might be awhile before its finished but its going to be so cool. it will have rockwall for me, a zipline for hayden, and an inside for emily. you will be amazed when you come home and see it. i bet you will even want to go on it huh. so how are things going for you up in the cold? i bet you are having a wonderful time serving the lord. because of your example i really cant wait untill i am 19 so that i can go on my mission. i love and miss you and cant wait till you get home good luck and have fun serving the lord.

are you going to state?!!! that is sick. have mom or dad record your match so i can watch it!!!! that sounds like loads of fun! when does baseball start? where are you putting the club house?   it just got cold. snowed yesterday, going to snow tomorrow and wednesday. in the -30's and -20's. its supper cold now!!!!!  that is sweet you wanna go on a mission. remember to tell yourself that when you start dating. it will keep you in line!!!! love and miss ya.

yeah well all freshmen are going to this state thing but i plan on going all the way. baseball starts right after wrestling which i think ends Feb. 9th. i so cant wait until it starts im so excited! haha funny you mention the location of the clubhouse...its going right where the chicken coop used to be. we moved the coop into the pasture with all the goats. holy cow that is really cold even if it is celcius. well i better go help dad again so talk to soon.

 Mom,

That sounds like soooo much fun!!!! Did you get my pictures? The sweaters are too big. I need a medium not large. What do you want me to do with them? It's been really warm here. I haven't worn my snow jacket for almost 2 weeks now. Where was grandma when you went skiing? I  think we will have to go when I get back home!! This week has been pretty good. We teach everybody that will listen. members, non members and less actives. We had a date set for the 21 of January, but she didn't come to church so the date dropped. And we picked up 3 new investigators this week as well. I cant believe how fast time is going!!!! It's nuts!  That is sad to hear about Sister Andersen. I hope she feels better. So i heard you slept at Cabelas!! How could you do that? It's such a great store:) well hope you have a great week!

That is too bad about tanner. Oh well its a good learning experience. That sounds like lots of fun though going to the tournaments. If I get to serve in the North Calgary Zone I will have the opportunity to go to Bass Pro. It's just barely outside of our zone here. So, it sounded like you had a great time skiing. We will have to go when I get back. I have been doing what you said bout praying for the elect to find us, and well this week they did! They just walked into church and we taught them after chruch was over. They are from India. I'm not sure they really understood baptism, but they accepted a date so they might know enough! Hopefully they will get baptized! I hope you have a great week.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!

Since Sunday was a holiday, the libraries and banks and stuff were closed on Monday so we emailed today. I hope you enjoy the pictures. I am going skiing with you this year too so don't worry:) This week was pretty quiet. We dropped our investigator and picked up some potentials. The Christmas season was pretty hard for missionary work because everybody went out of town and stuff like that. We went to an airplane museum yesterday. It was really cool. No we did not stay up till midnight. I wish I was. So what time is church? We only have one ward that we cover so only one church service. Well I hope you have a good week.

Dear Dad,

Time is flying. Its' almost been a year since I left!  Sounds like you had a great New Years Eve. We were able to watch 17 miracles. It is about the Willie hand cart company. It was a really good movie. Sounds like you are going to have a fun anniversary. Are you just skiing for one day or more? Me and Derek went there last January right before I got my call. It was lots of fun. Send some pictures please:)
